Student Council

A critical component of a St. Peter School education is developing concern for others and embracing the values that anchor the Catholic faith. Students regularly engage in service activities designed to foster social awareness. Many of these activities are initiated by the Student Council, which consists of eighth grade officers and two representatives from each class, grades two through eight. The Student Council sponsors several drives and collections, and raises money each month for a selected charitable organization.
As a Student Council, we have been able to do so much this year! We've raised money for the Catholic Charities program "In the Name of the Mother" with our Pink Tag Day, we raised funds for our Middle School Dance with our Hot Cocoa sale, we raised money for St. Jude's Hospital, with our Festive Sweater Tag Day, and we helped to raise money for our sister school, Notre Dame D'Alta Grace in Haiti, with our bake sale. During Catholic Schools Week we had a Blue and White dress down day; Cat vs. Dog dress up and trivia; Student Families Color Day and an Ice Cream Social.
On March 17 we celebrated St. Patrick's Day! To celebrate we are having a green accessory tag day, which benefitted our sister school, Notre Dame D'Alta Grace, in Haiti. We also had a Dollar Donut Day on St. Patrick's Day to benefit our sister school.
The Middle School Dance took place on April 9. The theme was "Glo-in-the-Dark" which was chosen by popular vote of middle school students and it included a DJ with photo booth, catered food, fun raffle, and fun for all!

On Earth Day, Friday, April 22, we sponsored a TAG Day to benefit the World Land Trust. For a cost of $2.00, students wore free dress in green and brown colors. We also held a bake sale, $1 per baked good.  We were able to raise a total of $610.

Thank you to Principal Ketchum, faculty, staff, students, and parents for your support of the Student Council initiatives.
