Student Council

A critical component of a St. Peter School education is developing concern for others and embracing the values that anchor the Catholic faith. Students regularly engage in service activities designed to foster social awareness. Many of these activities are initiated by the Student Council, which consists of Grade 8 officers and two representatives from each class, Grades 3 through 8. The Student Council sponsors several annual drives and collections, and raises money each month for a selected charitable organization.

As a Student Council, we have been able to do so much in the beginning of the year! We started  with a challenge between classes to see who could raise the most money for hurricane relief for in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Harvey. Grades were divided into teams of ‘Blue’ for Harvey and ‘White’ for Irma. The goal for each team was $150. Grade 1 raised the most money – more than $500! Overall we surpassed our goal and were able to give more than $2,000 to Disaster Operations/Hurricane Relief efforts through Catholic Charities - USA. Thank you everyone for your support.

On Thursday, October 19, we raised money for the Catholic Charities program "In the Name of the Mother" with a Pink Tag Day. We are also raising funds for our Middle School Dance with a Halloween bake sale on Monday, October 30. Look out for more fundraisers and service projects this year, including the Greg Gannon Food Drive coming in December.

Thank you to Principal Clay, faculty, staff, students and parents for your support of the Student Council initiatives.
