Mission

Mission: To strengthen our Catholic Identity by developing each student’s mind, body, and spirit in the image of Christ through faith formation (including liturgies and worship), community involvement, cultivation of service and charity to others, and living the Sacramental life.

Recommended Actions:

• Enshrine our Catholic faith in the school culture by providing annual admissions communication to all parish families, enhancing the virtue of the month program, and emphasizing catechism and scripture, as well as prayerfulness, to our students.
• Provide annual professional development aimed at spiritual direction for the teachers and staff, and offer opportunities for further growth for teachers, staff, and students during the school year.
• Enshrine our Catholic faith in the curriculum by standardizing Catholic content in curricula and planning fields trips with Catholic curricular connections (e.g. The Basilica and Franciscan Monestery).
• Enshrine our Catholic faith in the built environment of our school using the ADW Laudato Si’ plan.
• Enshrine our Catholic faith by setting a strong example of serving others through the student families program and other school activities.

• Enshrine our Catholic faith in the community by actively encouraging non-school parishioners and clergy to participate in school events.

Mission: To build a stronger network of community support by fostering opportunities for parents, parishioners, alumni, and local community members to interact with the school. A more engaged, robust, inclusive, and diverse community of school supporters will enhance the school’s mission to provide a faith-based and holistic education of the child. All members of the school community are encouraged to be engaged in the advancement of the school’s mission and institutional life.

Recommended Actions:

• Ensure constant communication between school leadership and faculty and current and prospective parents, and other key stakeholders.

• Ensure that SPS relationships with parishes and community extend beyond Saint Peter and Saint Joseph and are inclusive of our supporting parishes Saint Dominic, Saint Matthew the Apostle, Saint Patrick, Saint Francis de Sales, and Epiphany.

• Strengthen parish relationships through a focus on communication, balanced partnership, and fostering a sense of pride through participation.

• Continue to build family-oriented, faith-based community through strengthening the Home-School Association and the Pastor-Principal Advisory Board.

• Broaden and invigorate the Saint Peter School community to be more inclusive through Home-School Association initiatives. As key stakeholders, parents should be given opportunities to partner, socialize, communicate, and provide feedback.

• Create and fortify an alumni network dedicated to the long-term sustainability of the school.

• Optimize our unique and historic location to deepen the value of a Saint Peter School education.

Mission: To maintain a strong, rigorous, high-quality National Blue Ribbon academic program for our students by strengthening instruction across all subject areas, ensuring adequate professional development and support, and providing up-to-date curriculum resources and technology. The academic program is incorporated into and enhanced by spiritual and moral development as its foundation.

Recommended Actions:

• Regularly evaluate curricula to ensure it is meeting stated objectives.
• Create a culture of using data as a tool towards continuous improvement by streamlining assessments and training teachers to ensure consistent interpretation and use of that data.
• Create a culture of collaboration, clarifying teacher and staff roles and ensuring the goals of school-wide behavioral expectations are fully taught and met by all students while on campus, during field trips, and when participating in other school-sanctioned activities.
• Review all programs that assist with high school preparation and expand scope, if needed.
• Provide adequate resources to implement a structured enrichment program to benefit and address the social and emotional needs of all students in all grades, including those students with advanced requirements and those needing extra instruction.
• Continue working on the following:
  • Ensure parents are aware that these programs are available to all students.
  • Create benchmarks for evaluating structured enrichment programs.
  • Review the current process for structured enrichment and make additional investment if necessary.

Mission: To develop a financial foundation supported by robust development, strong financial planning and budgeting, and responsible facilities growth and management.

Recommended Actions:

• Attract and retain strong, experienced, and dynamic educators and staff by offering competitive compensation, professional development, and benefits.
• Maintain a stable tuition structure, support academic excellence, and ensure the integrity of the physical plant of the school building.
• Continue to ensure transparency with the school community on school revenue and expenses, including fundraising efforts.
• Continue to carry out purpose-driven fundraising activities, including:
  • Capital Campaign to fund the Cornerstone Project, which would create an addition to the school building with a new, accessible entrance; a large multi-purpose space to accommodate indoor recreation, school community events, lunch outside the classroom, performances and more; new resources and breakout rooms; and upgraded plumbing, HVAC, and IT systems.
  • Annual Fund to provide students with the technology needed to succeed in the classroom. Strive for annual goals of $100,000 in donations and 100% participation by the school community.
  • Annual Auction to provide tuition assistance and assist our sister school in Haiti.
  • Annual Golf Classic to support Specials teachers.
  • Annual Fish Fry to support the CYO program.
  • Parent-driven efforts to provide monthly teacher appreciation and a Christmas gift program.
